The Adirondack Coast stretches across the western shores of Lake Champlain shouldered by New York's Adirondack Mountains and the Green Mountains of Vermont. Quiet country roads wind through picturesque farmland connecting family-owned maple sugar bush, orchards and vineyards.
The unique character of the land and its people are now celebrated in our wines. Grape growing and wine production on the Adirondack Coast have exploded in the past five years. The grapes grown here are hybrids of European grapes and hardy American rootstock that can withstand cold winter temperatures such as Frontenac, Cayuga White, Petite Amie and Louise Swenson. In fact, many of these grapes were introduced to the world in just the last 10-15 years so they're like nothing you've ever experienced.
The Adirondack Coast Wine Trail travels 66 miles from Mooers through the heart of historic Plattsburgh to Morrisonville linking seven local wineries and cider houses. You'll enjoy La Crescent, Marquette and St. Pepin as well as specialty wines such as estate, fruit and honey wines in addition to our delicious hard cider. Our unique wines embody the character of the Adirondack Coast: rugged and wild yet relaxed with a casual warmth. So while you're here, plan to travel at a slower pace, sample local wines, drink in the views and discover what we mean by Adirondack hospitality.
